Funke Akindele is a Nigerian actress, filmmaker, and producer renowned for her role as Jenifa in the hit series Jenifa's Diary. Born in Lagos in 1977, she gained prominence with the sitcom I Need to Know (1998–2002). Her 2008 film Jenifa earned her the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress.
