Chikha-Queen

Plot

Set in Azemmour, Morocco, this poignant drama follows Fatine, a 17-year-old girl torn between two worlds. Raised in a family of "Chikhas", traditional singers and dancers of the Aïta genre, she faces a difficult choice after passing her baccalaureate. She must decide whether to embrace her mother's artistic legacy, which is often stigmatized, or pursue a conventional life with her boyfriend, Youssef, who demands she abandon her heritage.
