Biography

Alaba Onaolapo, professionally known as Alaba Ultimate, is a Nigerian Juju musician, actor, and producer. While he has been a professional musician for over two decades, building a significant fanbase in the United States where he resides, he achieved mainstream Nollywood stardom in 2025 with his acclaimed performance in the epic film Labake Olododo. In 2026, Alaba is widely recognized for his portrayal of Adigun, the complex antagonist and second-in-command in Iyabo Ojo’s "Labake Olododo". Released theatrically in early 2025, the film was a massive box office success (grossing over ₦150 million). Critics praised Alaba’s "transformative" performance, noting his ability to bring depth to a villainous role. He also served as a co-executive producer on the project, cementing his status as a serious filmmaker. Prior to this breakout role, he featured in Kunle Afolayan’s hit series "Anikulapo: Rise of the Spectre" (2024), where he played a warrior in Kuranga’s clique, a role that required him to undergo rigorous training in horseback riding and stage combat. Musically, Alaba remains prolific. He released a string of singles in 2025, including the hit tracks "Wá Mú Mi Débẹ̀" and "Alaba Ultimate Tide", blending traditional Juju rhythms with modern Afro-fusion elements. He is based in New York but travels frequently to Nigeria for film and music projects.
