Barry Keoghan is a critically acclaimed Irish actor known for his intense, idiosyncratic, and often unsettling performances. Raised in the Summerhill neighborhood of Dublin, he began his acting journey after spotting an advertisement in a shop window for the film Between the Canals (2011). He achieved international stardom in 2017 with a breakout "double-header" in Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk and Yorgos Lanthimos's The Killing of a Sacred Deer. In 2023, he won a BAFTA and received an Academy Award nomination for his role as Dominic in The Banshees of Inisherin. He followed this success with a viral, Golden Globe-nominated lead performance in Saltburn. In 2025 and 2026, Keoghan's career reached a new stratosphere. He took on the role of Ormon, a rival art thief with "disturbing methods", in Bart Layton’s Crime 101, and received widespread praise for his grounded performance as "Bug" in Andrea Arnold’s Bird.
