Damaris Irungu Ochieng' is an award-winning Kenyan writer, screenwriter, and script editor, celebrated for her significant contributions to East and West African television and film. Residing in Nairobi, she earned an International Emmy Award in 2012 for her work on "Shujaaz." Irungu has demonstrated remarkable prolificacy, having successfully steered 71 TV movies for M-Net's Africa Magic Original Films project, including titles like "Kiberan Shakespeare," "Sopi," and "Die Husband Die." She has also penned films for the Nigerian market, such as "Matchmaker" and "Tough Ladies." Her extensive career, which began in 2007, includes serving as a screenwriter, story developer, and head writer for hit TV shows like "KONA," "KINA," "Makutano Junction," and "Crime & Justice." In 2021, she was honored as Best Film Script Writer at the Kenya Women in Film Awards.
