Biography
Dami Elebe is a Nigerian screenwriter, director, and former radio personality known for her work on popular series like Skinny Girl in Transit, Rumour Has It, and Netflix’s Far From Home. She began her career as an on-air personality at Classic FM, Beat FM, and Naija FM, spending seven years in radio before transitioning to film and television. Dami studied advertising and art at Lee University in the U.S., which laid the foundation for her storytelling approach. Her writing credits include From Lagos With Love, Up North, and The Men's Club. In 2018, she received the Scriptwriter of the Year award at the ELOY Awards. As head writer for Far From Home, she led a diverse team in creating Netflix’s first Nigerian young adult series, blending local narratives with global appeal. Dami is passionate about telling authentic African stories and aims to expand her role in the industry by writing, directing, and producing more projects that resonate with audiences worldwide.
