Dotun Akande

Biography

Dotun Fowora Akande is a trailblazing Nigerian visual artist, autism advocate, and entrepreneur. She’s the founder and director of the Patrick Speech and Languages Centre—the first autism intervention center in Nigeria—established in 2006 after confronting limited support resources for her own son, Patrick. A trained economist and Advanced Certified Autism Specialist (ACAS), she leverages her personal and professional experience to champion early intervention, public education, and inclusive practices across Nigeria . In the creative space, Dotun is also an award-winning comic book illustrator, co‑founding Collectible Comics NG and contributing cover artwork for major Marvel titles like I Am Iron Man and Moon Knight. She continues to elevate both autism awareness and African representation in global comics.
