Biography
Enah Johnscott, born on March 24, 1982, in Wum, Cameroon, is a filmmaker known for his work as a director, producer, and screenwriter. After studying economics at the University of Yaoundé II, he transitioned into the film industry, initially writing scripts before moving into directing. His debut film, Triangle of Tears (2011), marked the beginning of a career that includes titles like Decoded (2012), Whispers (2013), and The African Guest (2013). Johnscott gained international recognition with The Fisherman's Diary (2020), a film that was selected as Cameroon's entry for Best International Feature Film at the 93rd Academy Awards. The movie earned him numerous accolades, including Best Screenplay at the Africa Movie Academy Awards and Best Director at the Long Key International Film Awards. His subsequent film, Half Heaven (2022), continued to showcase his storytelling abilities. In 2023, he was honored as an Honorary Fellow in Writing by the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa. Based in Limbe, Cameroon, Johnscott continues to contribute to the film industry with projects that often explore social themes and human experiences.
