Ese Ariremu is a Nigerian filmmaker, screenwriter, and director born in Lagos and raised in Enugu. She has directed short films and features including Widow’s Mite (2022), Prey (2022), and Idia (2025). Her storytelling often weaves together African cultural motifs, faith, mental health, and folklore. With Idia, she co-directed a cultural thriller steeped in Edo mythology and folklore.
