Eugene Wanangwa Khumbanyiwa is a Malawian-South African actor and voice artist. He broke into international recognition for his role as “Obesandjo” in District 9 directed by Neill Blomkamp. His journey began humbly — he appeared as an extra in Hotel Rwanda (2004) before landing roles in TV shows like Generations and Scandal. Khumbanyiwa has worked in multiple Blomkamp films, including Chappie, and appeared in Death Race 3: Inferno. He also does voice work for radio and TV, and in 2016, he was honored with the Best Achiever in Entertainment award at the Malawi Achievers Awards (South Africa).
