Gbenga Salu
Biography
Gbenga Salu is a Nigerian-born filmmaker, animator, and visual effects artist with over 18 years of experience in TV and film production. Currently based in Ontario, Canada, he has directed music videos for top Nigerian artists like 2Baba, Tiwa Savage, and Lagbaja. His short film A Christmas Story in Kingston (2024) highlights his storytelling skills. Gbenga studied filmmaking at the London Film Academy and holds a degree from the University of Lagos. He has received awards such as Best Special Effects/Editing at the Soundcity Music Video Awards (2008) and Most Promising Director at the Nigerian Music Video Awards (2009). In 2017, he founded Naijafootballers, an online platform celebrating Nigerian football, which also hosts the annual Ballers Awards. Through his Ontario-based company, Creatopia Studios, Gbenga continues to create compelling visual narratives.
