Biography

Goodnews Erico Isika is a Nigerian filmmaker, director, and cinematographer known for his dynamic storytelling and technical expertise. Born in Umuahia, Abia State, and raised in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, he began his career in 1998 as a child actor. Over the years, he transitioned into various roles within the film industry, including production assistant, camera assistant, gaffer, and sound engineer. His notable work as a sound engineer on The Snake Girl earned the film the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Visual Effects in 2007. Isika's cinematography on Oshimili contributed to the film's multiple nominations at the 2016 AMAA. As a director and producer, his film Echezona received nominations for Best Indigenous Film at the 2022 AMVCAs and was selected for screening at the Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival. His short film Away garnered multiple nominations and awards, including Best Short Film at the Eastern Nigeria International Film Festival in 2023. Isika is also the CEO of Newzlink Productions and is committed to discovering and nurturing new talent in the Nigerian film industry.
