Biography
Hakeem Kae-Kazim is a Nigerian-British actor and producer, born on October 1, 1962 in Lagos. After moving as a baby to South London, he discovered a passion for acting through school plays and the National Youth Theatre. He trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and graduated in 1987. Early in his career he was associated with the Royal Shakespeare Company and appeared in British TV series like The Bill, Grange Hill, and Trial & Retribution. He gained global recognition for portraying Georges Rutaganda in Hotel Rwanda (2004). That same year, he was also in the CBC miniseries Human Cargo. His film and TV career expanded to roles in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, Black Sails, Troy: Fall of a City, Dynasty, The Watch, Intergalactic, and Godzilla vs. Kong. He produced and starred in Man on Ground (2011), earning two Africa Movie Academy Award nominations, and won a South African Film and Television Award for Riding with Sugar (2020). Beyond acting, he has extensive voice-over work in video games like Halo, Guild Wars, and Final Fantasy XIV. He serves as a global ambassador for the Africa 2.0 initiative. He lives between several countries and has three daughters with his wife Bronwyn.
