Biography

Ifeanyi Barbara Chidi is an acclaimed Nigerian writer, director, and producer with extensive experience in television and film. Beginning her creative journey in 2014, she has served as a writer, head writer, and story editor for numerous prime-time Nigerian TV series, particularly for MNET's Africa Magic Showcase. Her credits include over 4000 minutes of prime-time Nigerian TV writing and developing over 60,000 minutes of story. She is the creator and head writer of the dramatic political thriller Covenant (2022) and the highly anticipated Netflix original Shanty Town. Chidi also created and wrote companion materials for Burna Boy's Grammy-winning album Twice as Tall (2020). Her notable works as head writer include Riona and Unbroken, and she is also the creator of Showmax's first Nigerian Original Drama series, Diiche (2022). She holds a master's degree in communication and media studies from Pan Atlantic University and was a juror for the British Fantasy Awards in the Film and Television Category in 2020.
