Biography
Jamal Kishuli is a Tanzanian filmmaker and storyteller with a passion for authentic African narratives. He holds a BA in Film and TV Studies from the University of Dar es Salaam and is currently pursuing an MA in Film and Media Studies at the University of Kansas. His work spans directing, producing, and scriptwriting, with credits including the M-Net original film Ensulo (2019) and contributions to Tanzanian features like Fatuma and Bahasha. Jamal has also directed over 70 educational programs for the Tanzania Institute of Education and co-created the series Twende Pamoja, focusing on people with albinism. As a MultiChoice Talent Factory alumnus, he is committed to enhancing Africa's film industry through sustainable business models and improved funding structures. Jamal's dedication to storytelling is matched by his love for soccer and a belief in film's power to connect communities.
