Biography

Jayne Osinachi Nwachukwu is a Nigerian screenwriter and educator, renowned for her storytelling prowess and contributions to Nollywood. She has written several films, including Love Given (2024), Onome the Rockstar (2023), and The Man I Saved (2024). In addition to her screenwriting career, Jayne is an advocate for creative education. She is an alumnus of Storyteller Creative Agency, KAP Academy, and TAFTA, and she actively engages with aspiring writers through workshops and mentorship. In early 2025, Jayne became embroiled in a copyright controversy when her script, Hope Given, was sold to multiple producers without proper authorization. Notably, actress Omoni Oboli removed her film A Different Type of Love from her YouTube channel after allegations surfaced that it closely resembled Hope Given. The producer of Hope Given, Susan Jimah, confirmed that Jayne had sold the script to her in 2022, and it had been aired on Susan Jimah TV for over a year. This incident highlighted concerns about intellectual property rights and the importance of ethical practices in the Nigerian film industry. Despite the controversy, Jayne continues to be a prominent figure in Nollywood, known for her storytelling skills and commitment to nurturing new talent.
