Jeffrey Leon Bridges (born December 4, 1949, in Los Angeles) is an American actor, producer, musician, photographer and author. Born into a prominent Hollywood family (son of actor Lloyd Bridges), he made his screen debut as a baby and rose to critical acclaim with roles in The Last Picture Show (1971) and Thunderbolt and Lightfoot (1974). Known for unforgettable performances in The Big Lebowski (1998), Crazy Heart (2009 – for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor), and True Grit (2010), he has garnered multiple Oscar nominations and the 2019 Cecil B. DeMille Award. Outside of acting, Bridges records music, publishes photography books, and is a committed philanthropist.
