Jesse Adam Eisenberg (born October 5 , 1983, in Queens, New York) is an American actor, playwright, writer and director known for his portrayal of socially awkward but brilliant characters. He broke out playing Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network (2010), earning an Academy Award nomination, and starred in films like Zombieland (2009) and Rio (2011). Eisenberg has written plays, a book and also made his directorial debut with A Real Pain (2024). Raised in a Jewish family in New Jersey, he remains noted for his intellectual curiosity, distinct on-screen voice, and commitment to meaningful storytelling.
