Johnny Drille (born John Ighodaro on July 5, 1990) is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and producer known for his soulful voice, emotive lyrics and blend of folk, alternative and contemporary Afro-pop. He first gained recognition after participating in Nigerian Idol in 2015, which helped him build an early fan base. His breakout came with the 2015 single “Wait for Me,” which showcased his storytelling ability and unique sound beyond mainstream Afrobeats.
