Biography
Jonathan Kovel is a South African–based cinematographer and camera operator with roots in New York, where he graduated from Columbia University Film School He has shot multiple award-winning feature films, including Of Good Report (2013), Ayanda (2015), and Sew the Winter to My Skin (2018), which was South Africa's submission for the 91st Academy Awards In Nollywood, he frequently collaborates with director Kunle Afolayan on Netflix projects like Citation, A Naija Christmas, Aníkúlápó, and Shanty Town Based in Johannesburg, Kovel is celebrated for his richly textured visuals and cultural storytelling
