Joshua Ryan Hutcherson is an American actor and producer who has successfully transitioned from one of the industry's most recognizable child stars to a leading man in horror and indie cinema. After spearheading a massive box office resurgence with the "Five Nights at Freddy's" franchise, he has re-entered the global spotlight in early 2026 with a major franchise announcement. In January 2026, it was officially confirmed that Hutcherson will reprise his role as Peeta Mellark in "The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping" (November 20, 2026). Alongside Jennifer Lawrence, he will appear in a newly written flash-forward sequence that connects the tragic history of the 50th Hunger Games (the Second Quarter Quell) to the future victory of District 12. This marks his first appearance in the franchise since Mockingjay – Part 2 (2015). Outside of Panem, Hutcherson is currently riding high on the success of "Five Nights at Freddy's 2", which dominated the holiday box office upon its release in December 2025. He returns as Mike Schmidt, facing a new, more aggressive generation of animatronics. He has also garnered critical acclaim for his role as Dylan in the new HBO series "I Love LA" (premiered late 2025), a semi-autobiographical dramedy that explores the chaotic reality of life in Los Angeles, which has been hailed as a defining role for his "career renaissance".
