Biography

Manuel Garcia-Rulfo is a Mexican actor who has successfully crossed over into Hollywood stardom while maintaining a strong presence in Latin American cinema. Known for his rugged charisma and versatility, he broke out internationally as one of the titular seven in Antoine Fuqua's The Magnificent Seven (2016) before becoming a household name as the charismatic defense attorney Mickey Haller. In January 2026, Garcia-Rulfo is at the center of a major television event. He returns as the lead in the fourth season of the hit Netflix legal drama "The Lincoln Lawyer", which premieres on February 5, 2026. The new season adapts Michael Connelly’s novel The Law of Innocence and features his character fighting for his own freedom after being framed for murder. Just days before the premiere, Netflix announced an early renewal for a fifth season, cementing Garcia-Rulfo’s status as one of the platform’s leading stars. On the big screen, he recently starred in the global blockbuster "Jurassic World Rebirth" (released July 2025). Directed by Gareth Edwards, the film grossed nearly $870 million worldwide and featured Garcia-Rulfo as Reuben Delgado, a father fighting to protect his family on an island overrun by prehistoric threats. He also recently garnered critical attention for his commanding performance in the title role of "Pedro Páramo" (late 2024), Netflix’s ambitious adaptation of the seminal Mexican novel, which marked the directorial debut of cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto.
