Marc Evans is a critically acclaimed Welsh director known for his ability to handle both chilling genre films and deeply human, atmospheric dramas. A Welsh speaker, he began his career with Welsh-medium productions for S4C before breaking into international cinema with the 1997 Sundance hit House of America. He gained widespread notoriety for his innovative horror film My Little Eye (2002), which effectively predicted the dark side of reality television. In the 2020s, Evans has become one of the most respected directors in British "True Crime" television, helming major hits like Manhunt and Steeltown Murders. In late 2025 and early 2026, he is receiving significant acclaim for his biographical film Mr. Burton, which tells the story of the schoolmaster who mentored a young Richard Burton.
