Biography
Matthew Kavuma is a Ugandan actor, writer, director, and producer based in Kampala. With a career spanning over a decade, he has made significant contributions to the Ugandan film industry. Kavuma's journey began as a Maisha Film Lab alumnus in 2010, where he honed his skills in storytelling. He gained recognition for his role in the short film Dial M for Maya (2022), which earned accolades at the RIMA Awards in Rwanda and the Black Cat Awards in Bolivia. The film also received a nomination for Best Film in East Africa at the AMCVAs in Nigeria. Beyond acting, Kavuma has showcased his versatility behind the camera. He served as the head writer for the telenovela Prestige on Pearl Magic Prime and contributed to Beloved. His directorial debut, Perfect Symmetry, marked a significant milestone in his career. Kavuma's work continues to resonate with audiences, reflecting his dedication to the craft and his passion for storytelling.
