Biography

Moji Olaiya, born on February 27, 1975, in Nigeria, was a renowned Nigerian actress and the daughter of highlife music legend Victor Olaiya. She began her acting career with Wale Adenuga's production Super Story and went on to feature in numerous Nollywood movies across both Yoruba and English genres. She was widely recognized for her roles in films such as No Pains No Gains, Sade Blade, Nkan Adun, and Omo Iya Meta Leyi. In 2003, she received a nomination for the Reel Award Best Supporting Actress of the Year and won the Best New Actress Award. In her personal life, Moji Olaiya married Bayo Okesola in 2007, but the couple later separated. She converted to Islam in 2014. Tragically, she passed away on May 17, 2017, from cardiac arrest in Canada, just two months after giving birth to her second child. She was laid to rest on June 7, 2017, according to Islamic rites.​
