Her directorial debut, Number 37 (2018), a crime thriller set in Cape Town, premiered at South by Southwest (SXSW) and earned her the Best Director award at the Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal. In 2020, she created and directed the Netflix series Blood & Water, a teen crime drama that has garnered international acclaim and multiple awards, including Best TV Drama at the South African Film and Television Awards. Dumisa continues to shape the South African film industry with her unique voice and dedication to storytelling that resonates both locally and globally.
