Biography
Oludotun Baiyewu Jacobs, known professionally as Olu Jacobs, was a revered Nigerian actor and film executive born on July 11, 1942. Trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, he began his career in British television and international films before becoming a cornerstone of Nollywood. With over 300 film credits, Jacobs was celebrated for his commanding presence and deep voice. He co-founded the Lufodo Group with his wife, actress Joke Silva, contributing significantly to Nigeria's performing arts. His accolades include the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actor (2007) and a national honor as Member of the Federal Republic (MFR). Jacobs passed away on June 30, 2024, at the age of 81
