Olubunmi Akingbola

Biography

Olubunmi Akingbola is a Nigerian filmmaker and film director based in Lagos. She studied at Obafemi Awolowo University. Over the past few years she has directed a number of Nollywood films, including Selina, Arike, Love Unplanned, and Our Neighbour Has Gone Mad Again. Her projects often explore family dynamics, faith‑based themes and everyday social issues. Akingbola works with up‑and‑coming actors and creatives, contributing to the growth of younger talent. Outside directing, she also helps produce and manage film content — bridging creative vision with execution. As a woman in charge behind the camera, she represents a growing wave of filmmakers redefining Nigerian cinema’s storytelling.
