Biography
Ovie Enita Justice Odiete, known professionally as Ovi Odiete, is a Nigerian actor, screenwriter, producer, and poet from Sapele, Delta State. He began his creative journey as a poet, publishing over 80 poems across various platforms. His passion for storytelling led him to the University of Benin, where he honed his acting skills in the theatre unit. Transitioning into film, Ovi made a significant impact with his screenplay for Demon Inside, which won two awards at the Toronto International Film Festival. He has since written and produced numerous films, including Love Letter, Pandora’s Box, and When Sparks Fly. His work often explores themes of love, identity, and resilience. In 2023, Ovi was nominated for the Future Awards Africa Prize for Film, recognizing his contributions to Nollywood. Beyond his creative endeavors, he is an advocate for diversity in the film industry, emphasizing the importance of inclusive storytelling. Through his company, The Ovi Studios, he continues to champion representation both on and off the screen.
