Portia Gumede is a versatile actress, screenwriter, and television producer whose career spans over two decades. After earning a Diploma in Drama from the Durban University of Technology, she gained early recognition for her role as receptionist Dinki Dube on SABC3’s Hard Copy. She co-wrote, produced, and starred in the SABC1 mini‑series Izingane zoBaba (2008), part of the “Shakespeare in Mzansi” initiative . Over the years, Gumede has been a creative force behind many acclaimed TV shows including Sokhulu & Partners, Home Affairs, Stokvel, Zabalaza, Shreds & Dreams, Housekeepers, Abomama, and joined the writing team at Scandal!
