Biography
Ravneet Sippy Chadha is an Indian-born Kenyan filmmaker, author, and producer based in Nairobi. After earning a bachelor's degree in psychology in India and pursuing further studies in Toronto, she transitioned from a career in financial services to filmmaking in 2007. Her acclaimed short film Subira (2008) won 15 international awards and was screened at the Cannes Film Festival. She later adapted it into a feature film in 2018, which became Kenya's official submission for the Best International Feature Film at the 92nd Academy Awards. Chadha's work often explores themes of tradition versus personal freedom, reflecting her passion for storytelling.
