Shane Vieau is an Academy Award-winning set decorator known for his meticulous attention to detail and his ability to source authentic, period-accurate pieces that bring "lived-in" worlds to life. Born and raised in Nova Scotia, he got his start in the Canadian film industry before becoming a frequent collaborator with world-class visionaries. His creative partnership with Guillermo del Toro and production designer Tamara Deverell has yielded some of the most visually stunning films of the decade. Vieau famously restored a 1920s Ferris wheel for Nightmare Alley and won his first Oscar for the lush, mid-century "creature-feature" aesthetic of The Shape of Water. In 2025, he served as the set decorator for del Toro's Frankenstein, meticulously crafting the gothic atmosphere of the Doctor's lab and the desolate Arctic landscape.
