Biography

Sonia Irabor is a Nigerian writer, filmmaker, actress, and media editor known for her leadership at Genevieve Magazine. Born in Lagos to media professionals Soni and Betty Irabor, she started at Genevieve at age 13 with the Teen Zone column and worked her way through roles including assistant editor and UK correspondent before becoming the magazine’s editor in 2017. Her work blends storytelling with cultural insight, and she has a degree in Media, Communications and Society from the University of Leicester as well as professional acting training from Drama Studio London. Under her editorship, Genevieve has expanded its digital presence and continued to serve as a platform for women’s voices and lifestyle narratives. Sonia has also appeared in films and TV productions and been recognized on lists such as Forbes Africa 30 Under 30 for her creative contributions and influence in media and entertainment.
