Stephen McFeely is an American screenwriter and producer who, alongside his creative partner Christopher Markus, is considered the narrative architect of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's "Infinity Saga." Together, they wrote the highest-grossing superhero film of all time, Avengers: Endgame (2019), and redefined the genre with the Captain America trilogy. In 2026, McFeely has returned to the forefront of the industry to steer the next chapter of the MCU. He is the screenwriter for "Avengers: Doomsday", scheduled for release on December 18, 2026. The project marks a highly publicized reunion with directors Anthony and Joe Russo and actor Robert Downey Jr. (who returns as Doctor Doom). Reports indicate that while Markus is focusing on running their production company, AGBO, McFeely has taken the lead on the script for Doomsday and its 2027 sequel, "Avengers: Secret Wars", tasked with weaving the complex "Multiverse Saga" into a cohesive finale. Outside of Marvel, McFeely’s recent work includes the retro-futuristic sci-fi film "The Electric State", which was released on Netflix in March 2025. Starring Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt, the film—based on Simon Stålenhag’s graphic novel—was a major streaming hit for AGBO, though it generated polarized debate among critics regarding its adaptation choices. McFeely continues to serve as Co-President of Story at AGBO, where he oversees a slate of projects including the Extraction franchise and the global Citadel spy universe for Prime Video.
