Biography
Tamika Lamison is an American actor, filmmaker, writer, producer, and humanitarian. She graduated from The American University (with a BA in Performing Arts after switching from Journalism) and studied at Howard University and the American Film Institute. She launched her career as an actor and soon expanded into writing and directing. Her first screenplay, The Jar By the Door, became a Sundance‑finalist and won the Gordon Parks Indie Film Award. Lamison founded the nonprofit Make A Film Foundation (MAFF), which produces short‑film “wishes” for children facing serious illnesses — she’s produced over 100 short documentaries and several award‑winning narrative shorts under MAFF. She also serves as SVP of Development & Production at PhilmCo and continues to write, direct, and produce films promoting diverse voices in cinema

Based on true events, "Superman Doesn't Steal" is a coming of age story, set during the 1970's Atlanta child murders- as seen through the eyes of 9 year old Harriet and her brother, who are fascinated with superheroes. However, when they experience a troubling series of events- the impact on their family leaves emotional scars and causes them both to grow up fast as they redefine their definitions of heroes, villains and yes- even Superman.
