Tsigereda Bekele is an Ethiopian actress who gained continental recognition in 2025 for her powerful performance in the historical war epic "For Love, For Land, For Power" (also known internationally as For the Love of the Motherland). In the film, directed by Theodros Teshome, she plays the lead role of Lielt, a woman from the Amhara region who falls in love with a man from Tigray (Hayelom) just before the outbreak of the Tigray War. Her character's journey, joining the national defense force while her lover joins the opposing militants—forms the emotional core of the story. Her portrayal of this complex role earned her a nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the 2025 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), placing her among the top acting talents on the continent.
