“Gingerrr” has officially entered the ranks of Nigeria’s highest-grossing films, pulling in an impressive ₦378,600,067 at the box office. The film, executively produced by Kiekie, Bisola Aiyeola, Wunmi Toriola, and Bolaji Ogunmola, now joins an elite lineup that includes Everybody Loves Jenifa, The Wedding Party 1 & 2, and Chief Daddy.
Since its release in Nigerian cinemas on September 26th, Gingerrr has held steady as the number one film every week. Its consistent performance has now earned it a spot in the top 10, and the excitement is only growing as the movie prepares for its UK cinema debut.
This milestone pushes Wunmi Toriola’s Queen Lateefah which earned ₦365,517,443 last year down to number 11. Other films that briefly entered the top 10 before sliding down include AY’s The Waiter at number 12 and Timini Egbuson’s Reel Love at number 13.
Sharing the news with her fans on Instagram, an emotional Bisola Aiyeola expressed deep gratitude to everyone who watched the film. In her post, she reflected on how many had doubted her because of her dark skin tone and questioned her ability to collaborate with co-producers Kiekie, Wunmi, and Bolaji. Despite the skepticism, Bisola said their shared determination and hard work paid off and the numbers now speak for themselves.
She encouraged her followers to believe in themselves and trust their God-given potential, even when support seems scarce.
