Overview
Synopsis
The XYZ Show is a Kenyan satirical puppet series created by political cartoonist Gado and inspired by France’s Les Guignols de l’Info. Using latex puppets to parody politicians, celebrities, and public figures, the show tackles corruption, mismanagement, and social issues with biting humor. Despite early resistance from broadcasters due to its controversial nature and high production costs, it premiered on Citizen TV in May 2009 with support from NGOs, foreign donors, and a diverse creative team. It has since become one of Kenya’s most influential platforms for political satire.
