Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, known globally as Wizkid, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and performer born on 16 July 1990 in Surulere, Lagos. He grew up in Ojuelegba and started making music early, singing in church and forming a small group with friends before he turned twelve. His passion pushed him into the studio as a teenager, where he developed the sound that would later define his career. In 2009 he signed his first major deal and began working on the songs that introduced him to the world. His breakout single “Holla at Your Boy” turned him into one of Nigeria’s most exciting young artists and set the stage for his debut album, which cemented his rise.
