Review for Mending
It tackles trauma and healing with a sensitivity that is often missing in similar films. It’s a slower burn, but the payoff in the third act is worth it. Great chemistry among the cast.
The story
Mending tells the story of Sumi, a young woman grappling with past trauma and the reappearance of a figure from her past seeking revenge. Haunted by a mistake and the loss of her parents, Sumi has found some peace in her marriage to Dami and their daughter. However, the arrival of Fela, who believes he was wronged by Sumi, throws her life into turmoil.
