Biography
Alex Usifo Omiagbo is a veteran Nigerian actor whose career spans stage, television, and film—long before Nollywood became a household name.He cut his teeth in theater productions like Awero (which he also wrote, produced, and directed) and Our Husband Has Gone Mad Again! at the National Theatre in Iganmu. After working in broadcast at NTA Benin and even briefly training for the priesthood, he studied mass communication and English before earning a PhD in Information Resources Management in 2016. His breakthrough came in 1984 with The Return of the Native and later with the soap opera Ripples, where his baritone voice and intense presence as villain Talaab Abass made a lasting mark. Over time he’s appeared in over a hundred films and series, including standout roles in Enakhe and The Black Book. Alongside acting, he founded successful modeling agencies, including Silver and Gold Productions. A respected elder statesman in the industry, he’s received numerous awards including a Lifetime Achievement award and Best Actor honors. Beyond his craft, he’s known for his distinctive bald look, powerful performances, and unwavering dedication to storytelling.
