Ama Qamata is a South African actress best known for her breakout role as Puleng Khumalo in the hit Netflix teen drama Blood & Water. Born on September 2, 1998, in Cala, Eastern Cape, and raised in Johannesburg, she began her acting career at a young age and quickly gained recognition for her talent and screen presence. Before Blood & Water, she appeared in shows like My Perfect Family, Rhythm City, and Gomora, where she portrayed Buhle Ndaba. A graduate of Reddam House and a student of Theatre and Performance at the University of Cape Town, Ama took a break from her studies to focus fully on her acting career. Her performance in Blood & Water not only earned her critical acclaim but also placed her among the new wave of African actors gaining international attention. She is admired for her authenticity, ability to connect emotionally with her roles, and her quiet charisma on screen.
