Barnabas “Barny” Emordi is a highly esteemed Nigerian cinematographer, filmmaker, and nation-builder, originally trained in mathematics at Delta State University His debut as camera operator on Elevator Baby paved his path into high-profile works, including Day of Destiny (Nigeria’s pioneering time-travel film), A Tribe Called Judah (a historic ₦1 billion blockbuster), Prophetess, and Ada Omo Daddy Known for his adaptive, story-driven approach and innovative use of lighting, Emordi’s technical prowess and creative vision have garnered numerous AMVCA nominations and elevated the visual storytelling standards in Nollywood In 2022, he became the first Black filmmaker to shoot with the ARRI Alexa 35, representing Africa in global camera testing labs
