Catherine Laga'aia is an Australian actress of Samoan heritage who was propelled to global stardom in 2024 when she was officially cast as the title character in Disney's live-action "Moana" She is the daughter of veteran actor Jay Laga'aia (best known as Captain Typho in the Star Wars prequels). Prior to her casting as Moana, she appeared as the younger version of the character Candy in the acclaimed Prime Video series The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart (2023).
