David Emmanuel

Biography

David Emmanuel is a core member of the QDance Company, Nigeria’s premier contemporary dance hub. Before his film debut, he spent years refining his "physical vocabulary" under the mentorship of Qudus Onikeku, performing on international stages across Europe and North America. In the film When Nigeria Happens, he portrays Poppy, a vital member of the dance troupe. His performance is noted for its "raw energy," often serving as the physical catalyst in the group’s more aggressive protest-dance sequences. To be honest, it's his ability to switch from high-intensity acrobatics to subtle, emotional movement that makes his character stand out in the ensemble.
