Biography
Duduzile Zamantungwa Mabaso is a South African writer, editor, poet, and publisher with over 15 years in the television and literary industries. Since 2006, she has been a significant contributor to South African screenwriting, working on acclaimed telenovelas and dramas such as Uzalo, DiepCity, Housekeepers, The Queen, and Unmarried. Her storytelling often explores themes of identity, resilience, and social dynamics. Beyond television, Duduzile is the founder of Black Letter Media, a publishing and story development company established in 2011. She also launched the online poetry journal poetrypotion.com in 2007, aiming to amplify emerging voices in African literature. Her editorial work includes contributions to publications like Timbila, Botsotso, and Donga. In 2016, Duduzile was recognized as one of the 100 Young Independents by Independent Media Group. She is also a member of the Writers Guild of South Africa, where she serves in strategic relations. Her diverse body of work underscores her commitment to storytelling that reflects the complexities of South African society.
