Francis Otavershima Atela, popularly known as Atela, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter from Benue State known for blending Afro-pop, R&B, and highlife influences. He began his musical journey at the age of 14 while singing in a Catholic church choir, where he developed his vocal and songwriting skills. Atela later rose in the Nigerian music scene after signing with Squeeze Records, releasing singles such as Kekere, Ojuju Calabar, My Life, and the retro-styled hit Jankara. His sound focuses on emotional storytelling and uplifting themes, helping him build a growing fan base within Nigeria’s contemporary music industry.
