Gilles Cazaux is a veteran of the French animation industry with over three decades of experience. He began his career in advertising at Ellipsanime, where he honed his skills as a storyboard artist on legendary series like The Adventures of Tintin and Babar. Cazaux is widely recognized for his work as the lead director of the long-running series Eliot Kid (2008–2012). In 2025, he reached a career pinnacle as the co-director and animation producer of the feature film Arco, working alongside Ugo Bienvenu. The film, produced through their studio Remembers, won the Cristal Award for Best Feature at Annecy 2025 and earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature in early 2026.
