Joseph Jason Namakaeha Momoa is an American actor and filmmaker who has become synonymous with imposing, charismatic action heroes. After defining the role of Aquaman for the old DCEU and playing the villainous Dante Reyes in the Fast & Furious saga, 2026 marks a significant shift in his career toward action-comedy and dramatic returns. He kicks off the year starring alongside Dave Bautista in the buddy-cop action comedy "The Wrecking Crew" (January 2026). The film, which features the two heavyweights as estranged half-brothers, was a massive streaming hit upon its release on Prime Video. However, his most anticipated role of the year arrives in December. Momoa returns to the world of Arrakis in Denis Villeneuve's "Dune: Messiah" (December 2026). While his character Duncan Idaho died in the first film, he returns as Hayt, a "Ghola" (clone) with metal eyes, playing a tragic and pivotal role in the fall of Paul Atreides. He also stars in the R-rated live-action/animated hybrid "Animal Friends" (June 2026) alongside Ryan Reynolds and Aubrey Plaza.
