Biography
Jordan Prosser is a Melbourne-based writer, filmmaker, and performer. A graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts, he has a diverse creative background spanning film, theatre, and literature. In 2022, Prosser won the Peter Carey Short Story Award for his piece Eleuterio Cabrera’s Beautiful Game, published in Meanjin. His debut novel, Big Time, was published in 2024 by University of Queensland Press. The novel blends speculative fiction with political satire, set in a dystopian future Australia. As a filmmaker, Prosser's works have screened at festivals worldwide. His short films Hungry Man and Tanglewood received international recognition, and he co-wrote the script for the 2020 film Blood Vessel, acquired by Shudder. Beyond his creative endeavors, Prosser has contributed to publications like The Guardian, Spectrum, and Australian Book Review. He is represented by Writ Large Management in Los Angeles and a4 Literary in Australia.
